Conclusion

The views and ideas about Jesus held by many today are not that different than those held by many people of the Bible.  In fact, most of these views and ideas that we find today are not new at all.

Some people believe that Jesus is just a myth and nothing more than the product of a group delusion.   For them to believe, they want the cheap parlor tricks that the Pharisees and Sadducees asked for in Matthew 16:1-4 before they will believe.

Some people believe that Jesus was only a man.  Some believe that, perhaps, Jesus was a good man who had special powers (Matthew 15:30:31), or maybe even a great Prophet (Mark 8:27-28).   Others believe that Jesus was a lunatic (Matthew 3:20-21), or a liar (Matthew 9:18-19, 23-24), or even in allegiance with Satan (Matthew 12:22-24).

What does the Bible say about Jesus?

Jesus is the only begotten Son of God (1 John 4:9), born of a virgin (Matthew 1:18, 22-23), he died for our sins and was raised from the dead (1Corinthians 14:26).   Jesus is not a myth, a lunatic, or a liar.  He is more than just a man that lived some 2000 years ago, for He is the Son of God who is still alive.

Jesus is a thread woven through the fabric of the entire Bible.  The Bible is the Word of God, and Jesus is the Word.  Jesus is the Word in flesh (John 1:1-2, 14).  The only way for us to have access to God is through Jesus (John 14:6) and it was Jesus death on the cross that saves us (John 3:16).

Jesus is God.  It was God who made his plan of the great mystery of godliness known to us only by special revelation (Ephesians 3:2-11).  It is by this mystery that we are lead by and will result in godliness for those who accept it.  Because Jesus being in the very nature or form of God, made himself in the likeness of a man and was obedient to the death on the cross, we have the chance to be saved (Philippians 2:5-8).

Though Satan may trick some people today as he did 2000 years ago into believing the same lies about Jesus, we are fortunate to have the Bible as a guide to tell us who God really is.   We can take comfort in knowing what the truth is and having the truth about Jesus Christ.
